Zorlu Enerji is among the 'Global Sustainability Leaders'

Due to its Vision Smart Life 2030 and sustainability efforts, Zorlu Enerji -one Turkey's leading companies in renewable energy- is listed among 12 companies from Turkey in the 'Global Sustainability Leaders' research, which is carried out by "Argüden Governance Academy" to determine how companies manage and conduct their sustainability efforts.

Along with the global, companies in our country have started to share their performances in environmental, social, and governance issues with the public transparently within the scope of sustainability practices. In line with these developments and the vision of being the energy company of the future, Zorlu Enerji makes sustainability a way of doing business. The company conducts all its activities in an environmentally friendly manner and continues to carry out its operations that meet its stakeholders' expectations and needs. In this context, Zorlu Enerji continues to publish a "Sustainability Report" every two years. With this report, Zorlu Enerji shares all of its efforts on combating the climate crisis, reducing carbon emissions, sustainably using resources, along with its energy efficiency, energy supply security, and environmental, social, and governance issues.

While companies continue to do business focusing on sustainability, Argüden Governance Academy has developed the Sustainability Governance Scorecard, which defines how the leader companies (Global Sustainability Leaders) carry out and manage their sustainability efforts. This impact-oriented research aims to prompt stakeholders and increase the effectiveness of applications. The Academy designed the Scorecard to motivate businesses to take action for a more sustainable future, highlighting good practices in sustainability, governance and providing measurement tools for long-term value creation. The companies' sustainability efforts' governance quality is evaluated under the criteria of giving guidance, implementation, board oversight, and continuous learning throughout the sustainability cycle.

Five different groups took place in the survey carried out in Germany, America, China, South Africa, India, and 212 companies were included in the sustainability stock market indexes in England and Turkey. Thanks to its Smart Life 2030 vision and sustainability efforts, Zorlu Enerji was among 12 companies from Turkey entering the research. Zorlu Enerji also stood out as the only renewable energy company among the Sustainability Leaders.
