01 December 2020, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today has released its white paper on 5G NFV O&M. Focusing on the challenges of telecoms O&M transformation under 5G and NFV background, the white paper elaborates on O&M tool platform rebuilding, O&M organizational structure, personnel skill transformation, and the core capabilities of 5G NFV network O&M.

Also, the white paper has introduced the key technologies driven by service-based architecture, DevOps and artificial intelligence, to build the CloudStudio O&M management system oriented to 5G networks, thereby fully supporting the three major capabilities required by the operators' digital O&M transformation.

The first capability is the agile design. For instance, ZTE has launched the advanced design module APDS (Advanced Planning & Design Suits), which supports the online blueprint design on the graphical interface based on the rich template library. The model verification and test verification are completed through the sandbox test, greatly shortening the time for new services to go online.

The second capability is automatic operation, so that the operation process can be customized in accordance with O&M scenarios, achieving automatic deployment and configuration based on end-to-end orchestration. By introducing an automatic test platform, 5G NFV O&M supports batch automatic upgrade, thus satisfying the requirements of the visual and controllable operation process.

Thirdly, the intelligent guarantee capability is provided. The system has a global policy center component, which can automatically adjust and optimize strategies based on machine learning to form an automatic guarantee closed loop, enhance network robustness, and reduce pressure in the guarantee domain.

With the integration of experts' experience and the intelligent strategy, ZTE 5G NFV O&M supports diversified application scenarios, such as 5GC O&M, MEC edge cloud O&M, and 5G network slicing O&M. Therefore, ZTE 5G NFV O&M can improve the 5G network maintenance and operational efficiency, and further achieve agile service development.
