SINGAPORE, May 17 (Reuters) - Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) fell 9.3% in April from the same month a year earlier, data on Friday showed, weighed down by falls in non-electronic products, primarily pharmaceuticals.

The annual fall compared with a Reuters poll forecast of a 10% drop, and followed a 20.8% contraction in March.

On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, NODX increased by 7.6% in April, after an 8.5% decline in March.

Non-oil exports to Singapore's major markets as a whole declined in April.

The largest contraction was to the United States, with a 40.6% decline from a year earlier due to significant drops in exports of pharmaceuticals, food preparations and telecommunications equipment. (Reporting by Xinghui Kok; Editing by John Mair)
