August 2019 traffic figures

In August 2019, Paris Aéroport welcomed 10.4 million passengers, an increase of 1.5% compared with August 2018. 7.5 million passengers travelled through Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+4.3%) and 2.9 million through Paris-Orly (-5.2%): this is the first time in its history that Paris Aéroport reached more than 10.3 million passengers in August. In July and August 2019, traffic at the Paris airports totaled 20.9 million passengers versus 20.6 million over the same period last year, establishing a new record for this period of the year. It should be noted that Paris-Charles de Gaulle recorded a historic day on 29th July 2019 with 256,312 passengers welcomed. Moreover, in Paris-Orly, July and August were marked by the closure for works of Orly main runway, runway 3, which happened last 28 July.

  • International traffic (excluding Europe) was up (+1.2%), due to growth in the following destinations: Latin America (+3.7%), North America (+3.3%), the French Overseas Territories (+2.1%), the Middle East (+0.3%) and Africa (+0.1%). The only destination which was down is Asia-Pacific (-1.6%);      
  • European traffic (excluding France) was up by 2.3%;
  • Traffic within France was down by 0.3%;
  • The number of connecting passengers increased by 2.2%. The connecting rate stood at 21.7%, up by 0.3 points compared with August 2018.

Since the beginning of the year, Paris Aéroport passenger traffic has increased by 3.8%, with a total of 73.3 million passengers. The number of connecting passengers has risen by 9.4%. The connecting rate stands at 22.2%, up by 1.1 points.
Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 46.1%-owned by Groupe ADP, decreased by 34.1% in August 2019 and has decreased by 22.4% since the beginning of the year(1). As a reminder, Istanbul Atatürk commercial flights were transferred to the new Istanbul Airport as of 6 April 2019(2). Excluding Istanbul Atatürk, TAV Airport traffic has increased by 1.2% since the beginning of the year(1).
Passenger traffic at Santiago de Chile Airport, 45%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 7.9% in August 2019 and has increased by 10.3% since the beginning of the year. 
Passenger traffic at Amman Airport, 51%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 5.1% in August 2019 and has increased by 6.2% since the beginning of the year.
