AM International K.K. agreed to acquire an additional 21.7% stake in Alpen Co., Ltd. from Atsushi Mizuno and Mizuno International Corporation.

AM International K.K. agreed to acquire an additional 21.7% stake in Alpen Co., Ltd. (TSE:3028) from Atsushi Mizuno and Mizuno International Corporation on August 16, 2016. Under the terms, AM International will acquire 8.8 million shares and Atsushi will sell 3.4 million shares and Mizuno will sell 5.4 million shares. As a result, AM International will hold 33.5% stake while Atsushi will hold 8.2% stake and Mizuno will hold no stake in Alpen. The deal is expected to close on August 17, 2016.
Alpen Co.,Ltd. is engaged in manufacturing and sales of sports products. The retail business is engaged in sales of winter products, including ski equipment and snowboarding equipment, sales of golf products, as well as general sports products, including training and fitness equipment, camping and tracking equipment, casual wear, marine goods, tennis and table tennis rackets, and items for baseball and soccer. The other business provides credit card services and operation of fitness clubs, ski and golf courses.
