April: EU approves acquisition by KKR

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of April, based in France, by KKR, based in the USA.

April is an insurance broker specializing in personal insurance in the fields of health and personal protection, international health, property protection and loan insurance. Its investments include a majority stake in +Simple, an online broker dedicated to professionals, active in Germany, Austria, France and Italy.

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given its very limited impact on the structure of brokerage markets.
