Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (TSE:4568) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase 55,000,000 shares, representing 2.87% of its share capital, for ¥200,000 million. The company will repurchase its shares in order to enhance shareholder returns and improve capital efficiency.
The program will run until January 15, 2025. As of March 31, 2024, the company had 1,917,502,690 shares outstanding (excluding treasury shares) and 29,531,339 shares in treasury.
