Danone posted sales of 6.79 billion euros for the first quarter of 2024, down 2.5% due to strongly negative perimeter (-5%) and currency (-3.2%) effects, and despite a positive contribution of +1.7% from hyperinflation.

On a like-for-like basis, sales rose by 4.1%, driven by a +1.2% contribution from volume/mix and a +2.9% price effect. This growth was driven in particular by the water product category (+8.1%).

Danone confirms its targets for 2024 as a whole, namely like-for-like sales growth of between +3 and +5%, and a moderate improvement in operating margin before non-recurring items.
