(Alliance News) - Industrie De Nora Spa on Tuesday announced the sale of the Hyde Marine UV business to Optimarin AS, a Norwegian company operating in the ballast water treatment sector.

As stated in the note released by the company, the agreement covers the sale of technologies, trademarks and selected assets related to the design, sale and after-sale of systems using UV technology for ballast water treatment and disinfection, promoted under the Hyde Marine and Hyde Guardian brands.

"The sales agreement allows De Nora to move forward quickly with the planned reorganization of its U.S. operations, dedicating resources specializing in UV technology to applications for municipal and industrial markets and streamlining manufacturing assets in Pittsburgh and Colmar in Pennsylvania and Sugarland in Texas," concludes the note, which explains that details of the transaction are confidential.

Industrie De Nora trades in the red by 0.7 percent at EUR13.43 per share.
