Komatsu Ltd. announced that from April 01, 2019 Kunio Noji will be Director from the position of Director Chairman of the Board. Tetsuji Ohash will be Representative Director Chairman of the Board from the position of Representative Director President and CEO. Mikio Fujitsuka will be Director from the position of Representative Director and Executive Vice President, Corporate Controlling. Hiroyuki Ogawa will be Representative Director President and CEO from the position of Director and Senior Executive Officer Responsible for the Mid-range Management Plan. Kunio Noji and Mikio Fujitsuka will both retire from the position of Director and assume the position of Senior Adviser, upon closing of the annual shareholders' meeting scheduled for mid June 2019. The changes made by the company to reinforce the business foundation. Together with new mid-range management plan (FY2019-FY2021), starting in next fiscal year, Komatsu is going to rejuvenate its management team for further growth.
Komatsu Ltd. specializes in manufacturing and marketing of construction and mining operating materials. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- construction and mining operating materials (91.3%): hydraulic excavators, backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, graders, crawler excavators, forklifts, tunneling, bulldozers, forest tractors, etc.;
- other (6.6%): primarily industrial machines (grinders, press brakes, temperature control equipments, etc.).
The remaining sales (2.1%) are from financing activities.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Japan (13.9%), China (4.7%), Asia and Oceania (21.4%), Americas (37.5%), Europe and CIS (15.7%), Africa and Middle East (6.8%).
