Norstra Energy, Inc. announced the successful completion of setting 850' of surface casing for the company's first Bakken targeted well, the 13-11 Milford Colony. During close supervision of the drilling, Glen Landry, CEO collected mud and cutting samples throughout the operation. A notable observation is that there were several shows of heavy crude oil in the Marias formations, which is not necessarily indicative of hydrocarbons in economic quantities, but is potentially indicative of oil migrating from other deeper accumulations, one hypothesis being seepage up faults with the originating formation being the Bakken.
