The municipal government of East China's Shanghai on April 3 named 23 venues - including the Hongqiaoyuan-Shanghai Airport Centennial History Exhibition Hall - in the eighth batch of patriotism education bases to be officially identified in the city.
The Hongqiaoyuan consists of two striking historical buildings that were built in 1923. It was launched as an exhibition hall on June 29, 2021.
By setting up a permanent exhibition in the century-old buildings, their exhibition function and architecture were seen as perfectly complementing each other.

Visitors can not only appreciate the evocative charms of the two old buildings, but also experience the history and development of Shanghai Airport's development over 100 years.
Through historical photos, video footage and artifacts, it vividly reflects that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Shanghai Airport developed from a single runway a century ago to a world-class aviation hub today.
