Tongaat Hulett Limited provided earnings guidance for the six months ended 30 September 2019. Shareholders are advised that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the company's headline loss for the six months to 30 September 2019 is expected to show an improvement compared to the ZAR 354 million loss (restated) in the comparable six months of 2018. Following the unwind of the 2007 Broad-Based Black Empowerment equity transaction, the weighted average number of shares in issue used for the calculation of loss per share ("LPS") and headline loss per share ("HLPS") increased by 25 million (23%), which impacts on the comparability to prior periods. The company expects loss for the period of ZAR 303 million to ZAR 327 million. Headline loss for the period is expected to be in a range of ZAR 300 million to ZAR 322 million. The company expects loss per share of 224 cents to 242 cents and headline loss per share is expected to be in a range of 222 cents to 238 cents.
