Sergey Ovchinnikov was appointed Chief Engineer of Shaturskaya GRES Branch of E.ON Russia JSC.

Sergey was born on August 14, 1967. He graduated fr om Moscow Power Engineering Institute (National Research University) majoring in Industrial Thermal Power Engineering. His career began at Kashirskaya GRES in 1992 wh ere he worked as an inspection engineer for turbine equipment. In 2000, he was appointed Head of the Boiler and Turbine Shop. By 2010, he made his career to Head of the Production and Technical Department.

Between 2005 and 2009, Sergey Ovchinnikov was involved in construction and commissioning of a new coal-fired power unit at Kashirskaya GRES for supercritical parameters of 330 MW. Under his leadership, the percentage of staff-caused technological disturbances at the power plant was reduced, technical and economic indicators (TEI) of power units were improved, a system for automated TEI analysis was introduced, and a five-year program for energy efficiency and energy saving at GRES was developed. Sergey Ovchinnikov has 24 years of experience in the energy sector.
