V-cube, a Video Communication Service Provider, Forms Business Alliance

with Tencent Cloud and Launches Sales in Japan

Lineup includes 7 products for metaverse, live distribution, etc.

V-cube, Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masaya Takada, hereinafter "V- cube") is pleased to announce a business partnership with Tencent Cloud, the global cloud business of Tencent. As a V+ Elite Partner *1 of Tencent Cloud, we will begin offering Tencent Cloud sales and implementation support services in Japan.

The seven Tencent Cloud products will be offered, which are deeply related to video communications. The products will contribute to the realization of rich, high-quality communication for live streaming, metaverse, games, education, and more.

V-cube provides a video delivery engine service that many companies need to launch their own video delivery services through the provision of video and audio SDKs. Through the COVID-19 pandemic, various online video and audio services have taken root as part of the culture, and many companies are introducing these services.

On the other hand, customers' desire to reduce costs related to system operation and to further improve and enhance services led us to offer Tencent Cloud as a solution to their needs.

Tencent Cloud, which will be launched this time, aims to solve the following issues faced by companies that mainly provide live-streaming/fan club services, video streaming services, and metaverse/online game services.

Live Streaming/Fan Club Service

Issues: The greatest appeal of live-streaming is that it allows interactive two-way communication, such as viewers commenting directly to the live-viewers and interaction among viewers. On the other hand, there are cases where communication between the live streamer and viewers does not go smoothly, and problems such as slanderous behavior and pornography can occur. There is a need for a safer and more enjoyable live-streaming environment.

Solution:

• By censoring content with AI, the system can determine images and comments that are slanderous and defamatory, notify the operator, and ensure safety by automatically suspending accounts.
• Easy addition to existing services, such as chat and social tipping functions.
• High-qualitydelivery to users without depending on the viewing environment with multi bitrates, enhancing the viewing experience.

Video Distribution Service

Issues: Infrastructure costs have increased due to higher procurement costs caused by the weak yen and increased demand for video content. Another issue is the increase in development man-hours, such as building in management functions.

Solution:

• Compression technology that reduces the amount of data to be delivered without changing the video quality, thus reducing the cost of traffic to be delivered.
• Provide a platform with content storage, management, editing, and delivery functions
• Automate video editing (highlight creation, moderation) through AI content identification and automatic subtitle generation

Metaverse/Games

Issues: Requires high-spec PCs due to improved CG graphics. It is also necessary to address the various types of fraudulent activities by anti-bots, such as unfair influence on the in-game economy and competitive environment, and unfair gains.

Solution:

• Enables the use of heavy-duty applications without being affected by local PC specifications.
• Provides cutting-edge security features, detecting and preventing attacks at an early stage and eliminating malicious data residing at the edge of the network. Enables mitigation of large amounts of data traffic flooding the data center.
