Woori Financial Group Inc. has announced that it has appointed a new CEO to expand its digital operations. The firm has announced that it has nominated senior deputy president Lee Won-duk to the position. In the role, Won-duk is to help the firm stay competitive while pursuing its digitalisation initiatives.

Won-duk joined bankrupt Hanil Bank in 1990, which was later merged with Commercial Bank of Korea, a former Woori Bank entity. Since the launch of Woori Bank in 2002, Won-duk has operated in many key roles at the firm.
