Erris Resources plc announced the appointment of Anton du Plessis as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 11, 2018. The appointment follows the resignation of Merlin Marr-Johnson as a director of the company, effective October 11, 2018, who has elected to step down to pursue other business interests. The appointment as Chief Executive Officer has been approved by the Board of Erris Resources and Mr. du Plessis will join the Board upon completion of director checks by the company's Nominated Adviser, which are underway.

Mr. du Plessis has over 20 years' experience in the finance sector. During this time, he has held senior positions at several international investment banks including CIBC (The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley with a focus on advising natural resources companies on the execution of strategic and financing transactions. He has worked on transactions across a range of commodities and for a number of leading global players including Anglogold Ashanti, Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton.

Prior to embarking on his investment banking career, Mr. du Plessis worked for the Anglo American group in a corporate finance and business development capacity.
