As Principal and Chief Investment Officer for Tailwind Advisors, John Batton is responsible for all aspects of portfolio construction and research including asset allocation, investment manager evaluation, and due diligence.
From 2005 to 2008, John worked for Alcon Laboratories, the world's largest eye-care company.
While there he managed the investment strategies of multi-billion dollar ERISA and offshore captive insurance portfolios, international finance company portfolios, and corporate excess liquidities.

Since 2016 John has served as a trustee of Cook Children’s Hospital, serving on a wide number of committees.
He holds a BBA in finance, a BA in Spanish linguistics, and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
He is a CFA Charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth.
John lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and three children.
