Shares of industrial and transportation companies ticked down amid concerns about the duration of an energy shock.

French carrier Air France-KLM and German airline Deutsche Lufthansa said they had submitted nonbinding offers for a minority stake in Portugal's state-owned airline TAP Air Portugal.

Federal regulators are weighing a ban on air-bag components from an obscure Chinese supplier after finding the parts were to blame for 10 deaths in a dozen crashes over the past three years.
