Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the provision of cable television services. The Company operates in two business segments. The Cable Television segment is engaged in the provision of cable television services, high-speed Internet access services and telephone services under the brand J: COM in three metropolitan areas, including Kanto, Kansai and Kyushu, as well as Sapporo and Sendai. The Media segment is engaged in the provision of paid television services for viewers. On April 17, 2013, KDDI CORP became the top shareholder of the Company through tender offer conducted by KDDI CORP and NJ Corporation. On July 30, 2013, the Company delisted from the Jasdaq market of Osaka Securities Exchange. Effective September 2, 2013, NJ, a unit of KDDI Corp and Sumitomo Corp, raised its interest to 57.318% from 48.547%, by acquiring a 8.771% interest in Jupiter Telecommunications Co Ltd.
