Telefonica Tech, Telefonica's subsidiary dedicated to digital activities, announced on Monday the signing of an alliance with Microsoft to offer cybersecurity services to businesses worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Telefonica Tech plans to integrate Microsoft's advanced security and artificial intelligence capabilities into its own cybersecurity portfolio.

Their collaboration will also encompass threat detection and response, identity management, intelligence and data management services.

The Spanish operator will also use 'Microsoft Copilot for Security', an assistant that helps security teams to protect their company against threats.

This announcement comes at a time when Microsoft announced last February its intention to establish an innovation center dedicated to responsible AI in Spain, in cooperation with Telefonica Tech among others.

The agreement was made official today at the RSA Conference in San Francisco.
