Honda Motor plans to invest about 10 trillion yen ($64.56 billion) on its electric-vehicle strategy over the 10-year period through 2030.

The Japanese automaker said Thursday that it would spend funds on research and development and capital expenditures in key markets such as such as the U.S., Canada and Japan.

Honda said investments would be also made on electrification of motorcycles.
