COPENHAGEN, May 6 (Reuters) - Finland's Metso on Monday said it plans to restructure its minerals equipments business, leading it to cut about 240 positions globally.

The layoffs include both permanent and temporary layoffs with up to 90 positions being cut in Finland, the company said in a statement.

"The planned measures will address the changes in the market environment that are driven by, for example, an increasing emphasis on strategic minerals that support the energy transition," Metso said. (Reporting by Louise Breusch Rasmussen, editing by Terje Solsvik)
