Italy issued 9 billion euros ($9.71 billion) in a new October 2037-dated green government bond, or BTP, via a bank syndicate on Tuesday, one of the joint bookrunner banks said.

Orderbooks for the new issue closed in excess of EUR84 billion, including EUR2.8 billion in joint lead manager interest.

The spread on the new green bond was set 9 basis points above the yield of the 0.95% March 2037 conventional BTP. The new bond has a 4.05% coupon, and it was priced at 99.865, at a yield of 4.104%, the same bank said.

Joint bookrunners of the transaction were BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, Natwest Markets and UniCredit.
