(Alliance News) - Sicily by Car Spa announced Monday that it has been awarded a tender called by AENA - Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea SA for its presence within the Ibiza International Airport, with the assignment of the location at the arrivals area, 85 dedicated parking spaces and approximately 2,200 square meters of facilities within the airport area.

This award will allow the group to expand its presence in Europe through greenfield entry into the Spanish market.

In this regard, Sicily by Car specifies that it is planned to establish a company under Spanish law whose operations, according to the terms expressed in the tender, will start from January 2025.

Tommaso Dragotto, president and CEO of Sicily by Car, said, "We continue with determination and constancy our development activity in Europe, with particular attention to all those places that express an economy with a highly touristic matrix. The awarding of the tender relating to the Ibiza airport marks a strategic step in the internationalization process of Sicily by Car by representing our first entry into Spain, one of the target countries by our expansion activity: what we announced at our entry on the Stock Exchange is therefore being stably and systematically implemented."

Sicily by Car's stock closed Monday up 1.7 percent at EUR6.00 per share.
