A leading US energy company ordered comprehensive Ascom communications solutions for several power plants to enable better team collaboration and increase safety for its workers. The order amount of the deal won in December 2018 totals to around USD 1 million.

The energy provider in the United States has selected a comprehensive Ascom mobility communications solution and software platform for its four nuclear energy facilities. The comprehensive IP DECT solution includes Ascom d63 handsets, base stations, Unite software and Unite AlertTrac, a web-based messaging application that enables better team collaboration, with delivery of individual, group or broadcast text messages and an intuitive interface with customization options for predefined messages and unique user groups.

In addition to mobility handsets, hardware and software, Ascom will also deliver consulting services to customize communications workflows in the plants, expected to install in the latter half of 2019.

Rob Goldman, President Ascom North America, says: 'We are pleased to design and develop a system that enables our customers to integrate with and leverage their existing infrastructure as they expand while still providing them with the latest technological advancements. This substantial win for Ascom in the power generation market, where safety, productivity and reliability are paramount, showcases the strength of our IP DECT solution and how our continued investment in the technology drives increased penetration in a range of vertical markets, from healthcare and energy to hospitality and retail.'
