Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) -- Jordanian entrepreneur Iman Mutlaq called on women to participate more in the job market and start small- and medium-sized enterprises.
During an interactive dialogue hosted by Bank al Etihad, Mutlaq stressed the importance of women having a motive to earn money and pursue education, knowledge, and self-empowerment whether they were employees, self-employed, businesswomen or investors.
She underlined that earning money must meet moral and human values, advising women to save a part of their salaries within the "savvy saving" approach, so that it can help achieve their goals.
The social activist highlighted the importance of innovation and leadership, and coming up with new ideas for small- and medium-sized enterprises to ensure their success, pointing out that these projects can succeed despite the challenges facing the Jordanian economy.
Bank al Etihad offers a platform called "Shorouq" which hosts lectures and workshops and events throughout the year, exclusively dedicated to women, to provide space for communication and exchange of ideas, discuss balancing family and work life, and encourage entrepreneurship in Jordan and abroad.
Mutlaq is a Jordanian businesswoman and financial expert who ranked 32nd, 41st and 38th respectively on Forbes' "100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen."
