Tuesday, 06.03.2012 - New owner of manufacturing site to retain all employees and develop new markets.

BAVARIA Industriekapital AG announced the completion of the purchase of the Nevers (France) luminaire manufacturing site from Philips with effect date 5 March 2012. The company - which in the future will trade under the name "Technology Luminaires" - produces lighting systems for internal and external lighting. It has been in operation since 1963 and has developed market-recognised expertise while offering leading customer service in its core lighting markets in Western Europe. Technology Luminaires is high performance manufacturing facility with EN 9001, 14001, OHSAS and 17025 certifications, hosting both sheet metal manufacturing equipment (CNC cutting, punching, bending and folding machines) and assembly / wiring lines including automated robots.

With this transaction, Philips and BAVARIA are providing a reliable, future manufacturing load for the factory, which has 165 employees.

BAVARIA plans to retain all employees while continuing the comprehensive lean manufacturing initiatives started by Philips. In addition, Philips will continue to purchase products from Technology Luminaires and the company will thus remain an important supplier to Philips' European lighting organization.
