Jena, Korntal-Münchingen, January 03, 2019 - The world's largest wholesale group for fittings and accessories for the manufacture and assembly of windows, doors, and facades, VBH Holding GmbH, has selected Intershop for its strategic digital transformation, based on a revenue-based Cloud Commerce platform for all brands and Group companies.

Together with Intershop as a strategic partner, the company will drive the digital transformation as a traditional wholesaler. The cooperation is initially planned to last five years. As a first step, the sales channels will be digitized using the Intershop Commerce Suite based on Microsoft Azure.

The first step was taken by esco Metallbausysteme GmbH, which covers the metal construction sector within the VBH Group. The company has completely reworked its web shop. The new portal offers around 50,000 products from high-quality manufacturer brands as well as products from the systeQ and greenteQ in-house brands. 'We want to offer our customers a convenient and powerful ordering platform. This is why it is particularly important for us to be able to configure our lock packages in the new shop,' says Kevin Münch, Head of e-commerce at esco.

With logistics and marketing concepts as well as technical consulting services, training and education concepts, VBH Holding has been at the top of the market segment for more than 40 years. The Group employs more than 2,500 people in 28 countries and has an annual turnover of 610 million euros.

'With our highly scalable software and the most secure Cloud solution from Microsoft, we were once again able to provide a convincing solution,' says Markus Klahn, COO of Intershop. 'Our experienced Intershop Cloud Services team will implement and host the managed service operation itself. We look forward to supporting VBH in the implementation and further development of its digital strategy as a valuable partner'.

Oliver Maisch, CIO at VBH Holding GmbH, adds: 'The digitization of our sales activities is central to our positioning in the market. The roll-outs in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany are only the beginning of the joint process. Another seven countries are in our strategic focus'.

In addition to digital touchpoints, the company's digitization strategy will in future be expanded to include online business management and proactive application management.
