Boca Raton Company to Transform Office as New Regional Headquarters

BOCA RATON, FLA,June 12, 2019 - The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB), in cooperation with City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, and the State of Florida, assisted the expansion of ORBCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: ORBC), a global provider of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, connecting businesses to their remote and mobile assets to deliver increased visibility and operational efficiency. The company will create 32 new jobs with average salaries of $76,647 at its new 11,500 sq. ft. office in Boca Raton. The expansion will have a capital investment of $580,000 into the local economy. The office is expected to open in late summer 2019.

ORBCOMM's plan is to transform its current office into its Regional Headquarters. The company is a global leader and innovator in the industrial IoT supporting the transformation of industry through digitization and automation, an asset that will align with all of the innovation taking place in Boca Raton.

The BDB assisted ORBCOMM's expansion by connecting it with multiple incentive programs through the State of Florida, Palm Beach County, and the City of Boca Raton, which resulted in a total of $192,000 in incentives. The BDB also provided workforce data and insight of Palm Beach County's labor force in the information technology sector.
