Bal Melava received an overwhelming response, as over 471 students from eight schools from Amona and Navelim villages participated in the celebration.
The day unfolded with activities like competitions, games, magic show, cultural programmes which were followed by the prize distribution.
School authorities from Amona and Navelim villages appreciated the efforts of Sesa Sterlite
Limited for organizing the event that provided a platform to school children to showcase their talents.
Bal Melava is among other CSR events of Sesa Sterlite that initiates many community development programmes in Goa.
The eight schools that participated in the Bal Melava were Government High School, Amona, Government Primary School, Betalwada, Government Primary School, Tariwada, Government Primary School, Bhandarwada, Government Primary School, Baroniwada, Government Primary School, Fanaswadi, Government Primary School, Maina and Government High School, Navelim.
Govind Naik, Headmaster of GHS Amona, Ms Leena Verenkar (AGM- CR, SSL), Ms Shruti Dhupkar (Associate Manager- CR, SSL), Ms. Vidya Naik Headmistress of Govt. High School Navelim, Mr. Ashish Pilankar (Associate Manager- CR, SSL), Ms. Yashoda Sankannavar (Senior Officer- CR, SSL) and all other staff and PTA members participated in the Bal Melava in their respective villages.
