ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) _ The New Home Co. (NWHM) on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss of $24.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Aliso Viejo, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.32. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 4 cents per share.

The homebuilder posted revenue of $99 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $4.74. A year ago, they were trading at $4.22.
