Trigenics provided genomics, proteomics and diagnostic companies with raw data for their research protocols.
In 1998, Mr. Watkins worked for Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. of Cambridge, Massachusetts in the launch of their first commercial product, Agenerase™, for patients with HIV infection.
In this role he established a technical field marketing force and marketing product management.
Before Vertex, Mr. Watkins worked for Amgen Inc., the nation's largest biotechnology company, in a variety of capacities in the Sales & Marketing and Executive Departments.
Prior to his work in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Watkins served as legislative assistant to Congressman David Dreier (R-Glendora), covering domestic policy issues, including HCFA and NIH policy.
Mr. Watkins earned an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA and received his undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley.
