Currently, Venkataraman Subramanian is Independent Chairman at GPS Renewables Pvt Ltd. and Chairman of Green Infra BTV Ltd.

He is also Founding Member at Indian Renewable Energy Foundation and on the board of 12 other companies.

In his past career he was Secretary of India Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Secretary of India Ministry of Rural Development, Secretary for India Ministry of Civil Aviation, Secretary General at Indian Wind Energy Association and Chairman-Petroleum Council at Indian Institute of Petroleum.

Venkataraman Subramanian received an undergraduate degree from the University of Madras.
