International stocks trading in New York finished lower on Thursday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 0.6% to 165.72. The European index slipped 0.8% to 143.81. The Asian index fell 0.5% to 228.02. And the emerging-markets index dropped 0.2% to 380.78.

However, the Latin American index rose 1% to 200.09.

EasyJet PLC's ADRs fell 5.5% after the U.K.-based budget carrier rebuffed a takeover proposal by smaller rival Wizz Air Holdings PLC in the first publicly disclosed attempt at significant consolidation in the pandemic-ravaged airline industry.

ADRs of Chinese videogame companies fell on Thursday after authorities summoned some of the biggest companies in the space and ordered them to follow new rules for the online-gaming industry.

ADRs of NetEase Inc. tumbled 2.1% while Bilibili Inc. fell 2.3%.

Centessa Pharmaceuticals PLC's ADRs rose 5.8% after it announced positive topline data from a first-in-human proof-of-concept study evaluating SerpinPC in severe hemophilia A and B patients.
