UPDATE ON RESERVE MONEY

AS AT 21ST JANUARY 2022

RESERVE MONEY

1. Reserve money decreased by ZW$340.08 million to ZW$26.84 billion during the week ending 21st January 2022, compared to the previous week's position of ZW$27.18 billion.
2. The reduction in reserve money largely reflected a decline of ZW$498.50 million in required reserves, which was partially offset by increases of ZW$141.87 million and ZW$16.56 million in banks' liquidity (RTGS balances) at the Reserve Bank and currency issued, respectively.
