May 17 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Tuesday, aided by gains in mining and technology stocks, although concerns around soaring inflation and a global slowdown capped their gains.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (13:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 255.05 points, or 1.26%, at 20,461.46.
