Matthias Wermund, Valtech's Global Director Techology Adobe, has been chosen as the winner of the global AEM Rockstar title 2021 following his presentation about real-time synchronized authoring experience within AEM as a Cloud Service & AEM 6.5.
Every year a few selected finalists are given the chance to present their insights, modern solutions and best practices using the Adobe Experience Cloud during the AEM Rockstar event.
The winner, chosen by the audience, is then granted the 'Adobe Experience Manager Rockstar' title.
Synchronized Authoring ExperienceAEM content authoring is typically limited to one sole active editor per page. This is to avoid overwriting each other's work, having to manually reload the page to see new updates, amongst other challenges of concurrent editing.
Matthias, who is a leader in the Adobe community, and highly experienced with AEM, presented his solution to that challenge.
Authoring activity is tracked per content page, component-level conflicts are prevented, and content updates are visible for simultaneous editors. Changes can be reviewed and commented on as they occur. On a technical level, the approach combines multiple advanced techniques in the browser and AEM to achieve a near real-time synchronized authoring experience. The solution is compatible with AEM as a Cloud Service and AEM 6.5, and can be integrated without code changes.
By overcoming these limitations, teams can complete time-sensitive authoring changes faster and accelerate large scale publishing projects by allowing multiple editors to combine efforts during page authoring.
