PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Aramark Holdings Corp. (ARMK) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $35.7 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Philadelphia-based company said it had net income of 14 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 22 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.

The provider of food, facilities and uniform services posted revenue of $3.86 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.78 billion.

Aramark shares have fallen 7% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 10% in the last 12 months.
