Company Secretary Resignation and Appointment


Atlas Iron (ASX: AGO) advises that Tony Walsh is re-joining Atlas as Company Secretary and Head of Corporate, effective from 12 October, 2015.


Mr Walsh has been Company Secretary and General Manager, Corporate of ASX-listed miner Independence Group for the past two years. Prior to this, he was Atlas Company Secretary for seven years.


The current Company Secretary and General Counsel Yasmin Broughton has informed the Company of her intention to take a sabbatical before pursuing her next career move which includes focusing on non-executive director board positions after recently being appointed as a director of the Insurance Commission of Western Australia.


Atlas Managing Director David Flanagan thanked Ms Broughton for her significant contribution to the Company during a challenging period. 'On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Yasmin for her extensive efforts as Atlas confronted the difficulties stemming from the volatile iron ore price,' Mr Flanagan said. 'We wish her all the best with her future endeavours.


'The Atlas Board looks forward to working with Tony again. Tony's extensive experience in corporate transactions, ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Law and corporate governance will be an asset to the Company, Board and executive leadership team.'


Ms Broughton will work with Mr Walsh as part of a transition period.

Bio of Tony Walsh BCom, MBA, FCA, FCIS, FFin

Tony has been Company Secretary and General Manager Corporate of ASX listed diversified mining producer, Independence Group NL, since 2013. Prior to this Tony was Company Secretary of Atlas Iron Limited for seven years. Tony has over 30 years' experience in dealing with listed companies, ASX, ASIC and corporate transactions including 14 years with the ASX in Perth where he acted as ASX liaison with the JORC Committee and 4 years as chairman of Shaw River Manganese Limited (ASX: SRR).


Mr Walsh was until recently a member of the West Australian State Council of Governance Institute of Australia (formerly Chartered Secretaries Australia) and is a member of Newman College school council. Prior to his role at ASX, Tony worked with Ernst & Young for over 5 years in an audit and compliance capacity. Mr Walsh is a Fellow of Charter Secretaries Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
