"From China to the world ", Baosteel carried out overseas layout, and where was the path of exploring new development of internationalization? From January 26, 2014 to 27, Baosteel held 2013 overseas development seminar, and thought calmly and planned carefully in the collision of ideas. The meeting made it clear that Baosteel will keep up with trend, persevere, be down-to-earth, go ahead steadily and surely to promote the globalization process, continue to deepen construction of global supply chain systems, and enhance global services of strategic users, making it truly become a global supplier equipped with international competitiveness and making world steel become different because of Baosteel! Chairman of group corporation and secretary of party committee- Xu Lejiang, general manager of group corporation- He Wenbo, general manager of Baosteel Co., Ltd- Dai Zhihao, vice general manager of group corporation- Chenying, leaders from the subsidiaries of main steel industry and some diversified industries, people in charge of different functional departments, and representatives of overseas companies attended the seminar.

Baosteel has set sail out to sea, but the sea surface is not calm. Last year, overseas economic situation was more complex and changeable, had the trend of intensifying trade protection and trade barriers, obvious regional differentiation and continuously heated market competition. Facing the difficult situation, marketing staffs of Baosteel at home and abroad actively cooperated, gave full play to the advantages of big system and great synergy, and various overseas work constantly made new progress and had new achievements.Throughout the year, exported steel completed budget well and overseas income had an obvious improvement compared with that of last year. In addition, the construction of overseas supply chain and overseas layout constantly had new breakthrough, overseas resources and overseas manufacturing made substantive progress, overseas projects and overseas R&D made an advancement obviously, and overseas support systems were increasingly perfect.

Focusing on strategic transformation of " from China to the world" and " from manufacturing to service", participants of the meeting had a heated discussion about the content which covered overseas investments, operation run by local authorities, layout of regional steel, human resources management, domestic or foreign capital interaction, supply chain construction of overseas marketing, overseas business planning and so on. Through two days' time, enlarged international views and detailed data and cases inspired thinking and clarified skeleton. The meeting made main development line of Baosteel internationalized business in 2014 clear: continue to deepen the construction of global supply chain systems and promote the process of globalization. Meanwhile, it made key working points specific from various aspects including the group, overseas marketing, overseas resources, overseas manufacturing, and overseas engineering.

During the process of discussion, Dai Zhihao shared some ideas about Baosteel Co., Ltd and overseas work with everyone. When talked about why it needed to " set sail out to sea", he thought this was a layout for future in the difficult environment. Overseas investments required to set a goal, stick to principles, and tolerate solitude. Additionally, overseas staffs of Baosteel needed to have the mind of " inevitable factor of success not lying in me", actively make progress, be innovative and seek changes in order to continuously push forward Baosteel overseas businesses.

He Wenbo expounded around the theme of " in the situation of steel industry overcapacity, what was our value and why needed to stick to go on and go out". He said, Baosteel was a group with high sense of mission, and in the past 30 years, the existence of Baosteel sped up technical progress of Chinese steel industry. Facing many doubts of present steel industry, value of Baosteel was reflected in technology and business model innovation, making that due to the existence of Baosteel, production process of steel is more efficient and environmental friendly and the whole industry chain become more valuable. To become a technology leader in the steel industry, a driver of green industry chain and a representative enterprise of co-development between staffs and enterprise, Baosteel needed to inspire the inner sense of mission, pride, firm ideal and faith of each Baosteel staff, and left an imprint of Baosteel in the history of world steel, making world steel become different because of Baosteel. He encouraged overseas staffs and said that the potential of overseas market was tremendous, and they should not only "go out" bravely, but also go ahead steadily and surely as well as continue to work hard for increasing the global influence of Baosteel.

Xu Lejiang gave full affirmation of overseas business achievements and showed appreciation of hard work and efforts of overseas staffs. He said the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee painted blueprint of comprehensively deepening reform for us. Giving full play to the decisive role played by market in resources allocation and improving modern enterprise systems will become key work promoted by state-owned enterprises. The task of deepening reform and transformation development was urgent and difficult, and the situation forced us to solve difficult problems using the thought of reform. Therefore, overseas staffs of Baosteel should be prepared well to face changes. Since international markets had a lot of opportunities, " going out " was driven by the situation that we dealt with overcapacity, followed users and faced the future. The strategy of Baosteel toward internationalization was constant and firm, and we should not only keep up with the trend, but also take one step ahead, speed up overseas layout, accumulate experience, strictly control risks, and use different modern means like big data and Internet to speed up the innovation of products, technical services and business model, become down-to-earth and make steady progress. Xu Lejiang hopes that overseas staffs keep firm confidence and constantly deepen reform, making contribution to early realizing the strategic transformation " from China to the world " and creating value.
