Basic Fit : is the largest and fastest growing fitness chain in Europe

According to the European Health & Fitness Market report 2019, published by EuropeActive and Deloitte, Basic-Fit is the largest and fastest growing fitness chain in Europe. With 629 clubs, Basic-Fit was the largest fitness chain operator in 2018. When looking at the number of clubs, revenue and members Basic-Fit was also the fastest growing fitness chain.
The fitness market as a whole continued to grow in 2018. In terms of revenue, the European health and fitness market grew by 1.2 % to EUR 27 billion. The number of members increase by 3.5% to 62 million. This development was predominantly driven by low-cost operators like Basic-Fit which increased the number of members by 319,000 in 2018.

Basic-Fit N.V. specializes in operating a chain of fitness clubs. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- fitness clubs operation (96.4%). At the end of 2023, the group had 3.8 million members in 1,402 clubs located in the Netherlands (237), France (781), Belgium (223), Spain (139), Germany (12) and Luxembourg (10);
- other (3.6%): personal trainer services, sale of energy drinks and nutritional bars, etc.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the Netherlands (23.9%), France (48.5%), Belgium (20.3%), Spain (5.7%) and Luxembourg (1.6%).
