Biohit Oyj's President and CEO Semi Korpela to Leave the Company

Biohit Oyj's Board of Directors has decided that Semi Korpela will immediately leave the company as the President and CEO. The Board of Directors will commence a recruitment process for a new CEO and Biohit's Chairman of the Board Osmo Suovaniemi will continue as deputy CEO.

Biohit Oyj is a Finland-based company engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of diagnostic tests and analysis systems. The Company operates one business segment, named Diagnostics. The Diagnostics segment offers solutions for the early diagnosis and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases. It provides blood-sample examination based on GastroPanel for the diagnosis of stomach illnesses and associated risks, quick tests for the diagnosis of lactose intolerance and Helicobacter pylori infection in connection with gastroscopy, as well as the ColonView examination for the early detection of fecal occult intestinal bleeding, which indicates a risk of colorectal cancer. The Companyâs products are used in hospitals, healthcare centers and research institutions. It operates primarily in Europe and Asia. Furthermore, the Company is a parent of Biohit Healthcare Ltd, Biohit Healthcare Srl, Oy Finio Ab, and Vantaan Hienomekano Oy, among others.
