Innovations by BÖWE SYSTEC and Kern-Data have resulted in significant progress in the industry over the past few years. The two companies have now agreed to join forces in a development cooperation geared towards the creation of a high-performance inserting system scheduled to commence operation on the first customer's premises by the end of this year.

The development cooperation between BÖWE SYSTEC GmbH and Kern-Data GmbH has brought fresh momentum to the inserting business. The two inserting specialists are working to develop a high-performance multi-format inserting system tailored to the growing demand for mailroom flexibility. This will see BÖWE SYSTEC's market-tested infeed channels paired with the inserting head from Kern-Data's new MK Series. Developers are now being tasked with creating a high-performance interface between the two system components. The first installation on customer premises is already due to take place at the end of this year.

State-of-the-art feeding technologies for maximum performance

BÖWE SYSTEC's state-of-the-art paper feeding technologies make the company a strong partner in the high-performance inserting sector. The company's high-performance infeed channels, tried and tested in markets around the globe, make for a maximum capacity of 100,000 sheets an hour for continuous processing (4"), thus ensuring optimum productivity in the mailroom. The revolutionary inserting system Fusion Cross also uses this sophisticated feeding technology. Its high-performance infeed channel, to which a newly developed turning unit was added in 2013, is capable of dealing with all common formats in continuous processing, including C4, and now also forms part of the new cooperation system.

Flexible inserting solution at high speeds

When it comes to the actual inserting and output process, components from Kern-Data's fast and flexible MK Series take up seamlessly where BÖWE SYSTEC's high-performance infeed channel leaves off in the cooperation product. Kern-Data's MK Series stands for maximum productivity at high speeds of up to 28,000 insertions an hour for formats up to B5 and up to 14,000 for C4 and B4. What's more, this system is completely flexible. Whether small formats, standard sizes or particularly large formats, Kern-Data's new MK Series is capable of processing a wide variety of envelope sizes and covering a broad range of applications up to a filling thickness of 13 mm.
