ATHENS, Greece (AP) _ Diana Shipping inc. (DSX) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $26 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Athens, Greece-based company said it had net income of 31 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 28 cents per share.

The shipping company posted revenue of $65.9 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $64.2 million.
