Drone Delivery Canada Corp. said Thursday that it received a 1.2 million Canadian-dollar ($873,903) contract to support its drone-delivery platform as part of the Canadian government's Innovative Solutions Canada program.

The Toronto-based drone logistics systems company said that under the contract, it will work with Transport Canada to develop and operate its proprietary drone-delivery platform. The platform uses Condor, a heavy-lift remote piloted drone that is the company's largest aircraft.

Drone Delivery Canada said it is responsible for providing the Condor drone and testing its viability with Transport Canada in extreme environments and short-range and long-range flights.
