'Energy development is driven by four global trends: carbon-neutrality across continents, increasing the consumer's role, digitization as the basis of transformation, ESG index implementation, which includes responsible environmental management, social responsibility, and corporate governance. All these principles come to the fore,' stated Maxim Timchenko, DTEK CEO, during the 11th Ukrainian Energy Forum.

The theme of the forum this year is the modernization of the Ukrainian energy industry for a sustainable and integrated energy future in Europe. To achieve this goal, the government needs to restore the investments flow in the industry and create conditions for attracting 4 billion euros per year of additional investments to ensure the transition to the production of 75% of electricity from renewable sources.

According to Maxim Timchenko, 'Responsibility for the future of the country, environment, and industry rests not only with the corporate sector as well with the state, government, and parliament. DTEK is building its future based on ESG principles by integrating 12 UN Sustainable Development Goals into its strategy. These are the obligations that the company consciously takes upon itself.'
