Network Transformation at a Stylish Budget Hotel in Karawang, Setting New Standards in Hospitality Connectivity

EDIMAX, based in Taipei, Taiwan, has made significant strides in the hospitality sector with a major network upgrade at a stylish budget hotel located in the strategic Karawang industrial hub of West Java in Indonesia. This project is a key milestone, enhancing digital experiences for guests and streamlining hotel operations.
Located in a vibrant business and industrial area, the hotel embarked on an ambitious overhaul to replace its outdated network with a faster and more reliable system. This upgrade was designed to support the hotel's extensive amenities, which include approximately 130 modern guest rooms, lobby, and outdoor swimming pool, as well as robust meeting facilities.
EDIMAX supplied a comprehensive suite of network technologies, including the APC500 CMS for central management and the FR-200 Multi-WAN Firewall for security. The network setup incorporated CAX1800 ceiling-mounted, IAP1200 in-wall, and OAP 1750 outdoor WiFi APs for uninterrupted coverage. Additionally, the infrastructure features IGS-1210P V2 industrial switches and GS-5654PLX L2 surveillance VLAN switches, complemented by numerous PoE IP cameras.
This carefully chosen combination ensures extensive coverage across all areas of the hotel, from guest rooms to over ten versatile meeting spaces, which can accommodate gatherings of various sizes, from a few dozen to several hundred people. The upgrade has resulted in faster internet speeds, dedicated networks for staff and guests to enhance operational efficiency, and reliable bandwidth for essential IP surveillance, improving overall hotel security.
The successful upgrade has facilitated high-speed WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel, enhancing the guest experience and supporting both leisure and business activities. Encouraged by this success, EDIMAX is planning to expand its network solutions to additional hotels, demonstrating its ability to meet the evolving demands of modern hospitality and signaling a new era of digital transformation in the industry.
