JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Seiichi Murayama) ('JX') announces that it has today reached a settlement as described below with Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Keiji Nishida) ('Mitsui') regarding pending legal disputes concerning multiple patents that had been under dispute on the ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil with carrier (the 'Patents').

Details are as follows.

1. JX and Mitsui have agreed to mutually withdraw all pending legal disputes regarding the Patents between the two parties.

2. The two parties have agreed to conclude an agreement regarding comprehensive cross-license, consisting mainly of obligations not to exercise each other's patent rights against the other party in the field of the ultra-thin electrolytic copper foil with carrier.
