Welcome to the new issue of Operators' ProNews, dedicated to the community of replay operators.
This month we introduce LSM-VIA 1.4 and its new features and operational improvements.

New Features

• Clip Edit by Network

  The latest LSM-VIA 1.4 release brings a lot of legacy features. One of those features is the "Clip Edit by Network" function. This function allows you to edit clips on network servers. Edit IN and OUT points, edit metadata, edit the name or pref cam. By enabling Clip Edit by Network you can also move clips from network servers.

• Second Lever Range, PGM Speed, Var Max

  Requested by many operators and now added to the latest LSM-VIA Version 1.4:
  PGM Speed, Var Max and Second Lever Range.
  These 3 functions allows you to tweak the behavior of the LSM-VIA remote lever during Playout. Second Lever Range can also be used in Playlist Edit mode to edit the speed beyond 100%.
  All 3 modes are mutually exclusive and can be used together.

• Loop Playout

  Another feature high on the list for operators: The Loop Function!
  No need anymore to place a clip multiple times in a playlist to create a continuous loop or other creative solutions to loop a clip, just activate the Loop Function with a touch of a button and your clip or playlist will be played out in a continuous loop.

• Network Keyword File

  With the arrival of LSM-VIA a new approach was implemented on how keywords were handled. Keyword files were not hosted on the server anymore but directly on the LSM-VIA Client Workstation.
  In the latest 1.4 release we now add the possibility to access one single Keyword File over the network. No need to upload the same keyword file on all your LSM-VIA Clients. Similar with updating your keyword file, only the network file needs to be adapted and all LSM-VIA Clients automatically have access to the updated keyword file.

Operational Improvements

The new LSM-VIA 1.4 release is full of small improvements to speed up your operations even more and enhance your production.

• Edit Button in Playlist Playout Mode

  We now have added an Edit button in the Playlist Playout Mode allowing you to go directly into Playlist Edit Mode just a touch of a button awaits.
  Other ways to get into Playlist Edit Mode are still available; By pressing only once on the PLST button before loading the Playlist or by touching the Jog Wheel when already in Playlist Playout Mode.

• LSM-VIA Viewer Toggle Focus

  When pressing F10 in the LSM-VIA Viewer application a Playlist Panel is opened on the right side. In previous version the focus bar shifted towards the Playlist Panel as well. From now on the focus remains on the Clip Panel allowing you to continue working and quickly select the desired clips. If you need to toggle your focus you can still use the "CTRL + TAB" shortcut on your keyboard to switch between Playlist and Clip panel

• New Shortcuts on LSM-VIA Remote

  We noticed all our LSM-VIA operators love using the programmable shortcut buttons available on the remote. That's why we are expanding the possibilities of these buttons with new shortcuts available in this latest release. From now on you are able to add: Fast jog, Character ON/OFF, Trains, Back to Local, PGM Speed, Var Max, Second Lever Range and Loop.

• Recue shortcut from LSM-VIA Viewer

  Operators working a lot on the old VGA will probably know that you could recue your clip from the VGA with the shortcut "ALT + R". This shortcut is now also available in the LSM-VIA Viewer applications allowing operators to Recue a clip after they played it out by using the shortcut "ALT + P".

• Improved "Home" shortcut from LSM-VIA Viewer

  In previous versions you got transported back to page 1 bank 1 when pressing the "Home" shortcut button on the keyboard. Since this release you will be brought back to bank 1 of the corresponding page you where currently at when using the "Home" button.

• Call by ID improvements

  With the Call by ID function in the LSM-VIA Viewer you can recall a Clip, Playlist or Record Train on your smallest PGM output by typing in the name field the corresponding LSM-ID followed by pressing the "F3" shortcut key on your keyboard.
  Since this version if your call was successful the name field will be cleared automatically, however when calling a nonexistent LSM ID the name field will remain there.

• Content Feedback on LSM-VIA Touchscreen

  As from now on you get feedback about the loaded media on your controled outputs on the LSM-VIA Touchscreen. Both in the Live screen and Clip screen you can see on top of the Touchscreen your different outputs that are controlled by your LSM-VIA Remote and corresponding which media (Clip or Record Train) is loaded on the different outputs.
